After a restart I can't get into Karimic 2.6.30-5. I log in, the welcome

I have a similar problem when the compiz 'reflection' effect is enabled.
I started having freezes upon using Karmic and turned of all compiz
effects at that time. I have since been enabling some effects and this
one seems to be the culprit.
It's not particularly important to me, but it is a bug.

attachments. Save as is available, but annoying when I just want to view

After another reboot one drive will not mount. I have a 160GB Seagate
Free Agent drive and a 16GB Kingston flash drive. I have policykit-1 and

Works after a fashion on my OfficeJet 4215. Gscan2pdf saves images
correctly but PDF has the same issue in Karmic as existed in Interpid -
the page(s) are broken into two parts. Jaunty saves pdfs correctly.

Confirmed with my installation. This computer has an nvidia graphic
card, but my laptop has the Intel 915g(?) one which is preventing any
graphic display at all. Even getting into terminal mode is iffy at best

Adam: on the 1000, doing "echo 0 |sudo tee /sys/devices/platform/eeepc/bt"
doesn't seem to do anything.
Doing a cat eeepc/bt returns -19 every time, so it seems like it either is a
permissions problem or something else.
So far, with all the patches I've yet to see, wlan, bluetooth and volume

Fortunately I have a laptop (happily running 8.10) to correspond with.
By the way, kudos on the ifupifdown amendment - now Intrepid restarts in
seconds instead of minutes.

After updating from 8.04 to 8.10 Beta, my Acer 1715 monitor is not
behaving. The Ubuntu logo and progress window display properly, but
after the boot is finished it is inactive. I can hear the login sound
