To clarify, the alt key is application independent. I first noticed when
I was using MS Word in VMware, but it registers regardless of the
application being used. It's not limited to OpenOffice as the original
report suggests.

errors" Using stock Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (3.36.1) in Gnome. Only thing added

Videos default player also will not run but gives no error
To resolve;
1) Left Videos installed as default player (still not playing commercial dvd,
but no error shown. It picks up the data from the DVD, but will not play it)
2) Removed all MPlayer files (synaptic)
3) Installed VLC (runs good with libdvdcss2 and all code)

Never mind what I wrote. I was seeing so many differences in the boot
load that I went ahead and wiped the drive clean, set the zero fill
option, reset the MBR and reformatted as ext4. Grab the up to date ISO,
and re-installed 20.04 LTS. I let the install run as a normal full

have this issue for me. Not sure if that helps track down the bug.

I think gnome-bluetooth was installed in my 11.10 setup and it
recommended installing pulseaudio during the 12.04 upgrade. pulseaudio
was not installed in my 11.10 setup. I checked before I did the
upgrade.

Just looking for an update on this. Would the proper solution for this
be to have a 13.04 upgrage remove xfce4-volumed and install xfce4-mixer
instead? I think that would work fine for my installs.

Just upgraded another system and pulseaudio was installed again. This
time I removed (purged) xfce4-volumed before I did sudo do-release-
upgrade. Digging into the apt.log file in /var/log/dist-upgrade shows
the following.
Installing pulseaudio as Recommends of gnome-settings-daemon

Same here. One IMAP account works as expected, the other disappears
(only the local junk and deleted folders remain visible). I can get my
messages back by disabling and re-enabling the account in preferences.

The lubuntu-desktop meta-package is unable to install on PowerPC
machines.
This problem is introduced in v0.18 which is current on maverick and is
still present on v0.20 which is current on natty.
The PowerPC arch build of those to versions are trying to install
chromium-bro
I can confirm that I applied the optimization noted above and started
having problems libvirt about the same time. I installed cgroups-bin as
noted above and am now able to start VMs as before.
