Last Saturday I lost my Lucid (due to other issues, unrelated to this
bug). I then decided to reinstall from the 2010-04-11 alternate ISO.
During the install I kept some partitions, including /home. After
install completed I tried to login to Gnome, and got some weird message
I am providing a tune2fs output for all the filesystems, just in case.
Each FS is separated, in the output, by a line like:

I am not sure. It is indeed a fact that all last tries were while I was
running the automated server tests. It does happen that it requires me
to run as root.
I also had problems while running testdrive, but now I am unsure if it
was caused by having run the AST before testdrive , in the *same* bo
unfortunately I only have the -18 and -19 nowadays (had to clean up
/boot two weeks ago). So far, both of them hard-freeze.

Sounds like your etx4 partition's superblock is hosed... or the
partition table is... or the disk itself is going bonkers... or
something like it.

now to restrict contributions to Linux, Ubuntu, etc to *only* free
software? Then -- for example -- we must also prohibit most of the
pictures that are taken, since most of the photographic equipment uses
proprietary firmware

It *is* triaged (NTP/Ubuntu). The NTP-only task is the wrong upstream I
