Got good results after a few tweakings.
1- The Updater would not go beyond FINISH (even when closing ADEPT
manually), until I upgrade from KDE 3.5.5 to 3.5.6.
2- crash while updating Hylafax-client.
3- Could finish with dpkg and Kubuntu works fine.

flawlessly) to 9.10.
The moonshine LED keeps blinking, but no further action. I have to force
a hard reset with the power button. This occurs with all conceivable
ways by which you could try to suspend: lid close, Fn-F4, GNOME
Looks like my suspend is working again. It seems to have been caused by
the fact that I had downgraded my xserver to an older version under
Ubuntu 9.04 to work around the performance problems introduced for the
Intel graphics in that release.
I now installed xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.0-1ubunt
Bump. This issue caused suspend to fail on my Thinkpad T61 and desktop
effects wouldn't work either. I upgraded the xserver-xorg-video-intel
package and both problems went away. Took me a long time to diagnose
this.

good observation, that should be the same thing in Xen. Here it is even worse,
as by default Xen always injects the host's CPUID into the guest, so it will
trigger every time you start it as a Xen guest (on every Xen host OS)

Instead file a bug against the application that was used for *writing and
sending* that email. It should always include a header defining the used
character encoding.
Guessing never works well and will just create new bugs and errors

I just upgraded my distribution from 9.04 to 9.10 and I'm still
