This is my second posting. After adding and removing Gstremer and Xine packages
I finally managed to get audio from Totem using Gstreamer but still no video. I
been at it for days still no success. Is there a Linux Codec(plug-in) for

This issue dissapeared for me also in my Kubuntu Gutsy amd64
installation. However, I had to format my amd64 partitions and install
the 32 bit version of Kubuntu Gutsy for testing purposes. Once the CD
install completed I ran `apt-get update && apt-get upgrade` and the
administrator button problem

I'm getting the same thing, on an old Dell Inspiron 8200.
Video card is an nVidia GeForce4 440 Go, using the 96.43.17 driver.
I also tried the 96.43.16 driver with the same results.

them to inline text ... grrrhhh.

I confirm that. In my case it always have been disabled both in 9.10 and
10.04. So I had to create /etc/network/interfaces manually. Moreover I
have to put "nameserver" string into /etc/resolv.conf every time
I confirm this issue. I did upgrading from kubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 alpha and at
some point when setting up downloaded packaged the system just freezed reacting
only to the power button pressed for 6 sec.

The machine is stuck at "Loading ephemeral" when it fails on MAAS.

What I did was compiling PCRE with JIT support as:
./configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info
--libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu \
--enable-utf8 --enable-unicode-properties\
--enable-pcre16 \
--enable-pcre32
Yes - it is reproducable in 8.10.

I ran the following command and got the dpkg: SECOND LINE notation.
Requires superuser privilege.

Again, all I`m doing
dn`t initially work.
Hmmm, maybe it did eventually. Don`t know.

The sound issue appears to be resolved. Someone suggested disabling the
on-board sound---which I did by
disconnected two jumper pins. The sound didn`t return initially but a day
later, it was working.

Playing a folder of mp3s from the terminal shows the following when pausing the
music from notification area:
[0414] vcdx access error: fread (): Is a directory
Segmentation fault
