Wow, I put this in months ago, but thanks for your question. Sorry, I haven't been with Ubuntu for a while because of this problem. I use a java charting system found in prophet.net, the pointer jumps around, very frustrating.
I found Ubuntu 7 to be underperforming XP so I plugged in my XP HD again. I just upgraded to the newer Ubuntu so I will try it again when I can.
