1. We do have setuptools in the build process, and it does *generate*
this code snippet, and that's why we have the dependency.

After discussion in side channels, we came to the following conclusion:
- a new version, 34.1, was uploaded to Oracular and Oracular only, removing the
dependency line.
I have tested the package without the explicit dependency and everything should

As this is about netplan's behavior, I think it should be an upstream bug
rather than a packaging bug - so I am adding the project here as a target.

Looking at the code and at docs, I believe you need to set
IGNORE_SMTP_LINE_LENGTH_LIMIT to be able to send messages with a higher
line length.
The configuration you mentioned (set to 1G) are defined for remote smtp,
and are only put in place if the flag is set - so there is no imp

I gave it a try today an was not able to reproduce it upgrading from
24.10 to 25.04.
To move further we would need a reproducer: from a fresh Ubuntu install,
which exact steps one needs to make it break
Until then this stays as incom
