Hi, this appears to be fixed.
I re-enabled "quite splash" in my grub config, ran update-grub, and
rebooted. I got a black splash screen with white "Ubuntu" branding, and
a prompt to enter my FDE key. Boot went just fine.

According to the alsa-info.txt of #33, I couldn't find anything wrong,
the driver already worked and mixer controls already generated. I have
no idea why "the control for sound is gone and hardware keys for sound
doesn't work". With this testing kernel, the audio should work as
before.

When I ran ubuntu-bug, and the ubuntu-bug window appeared, I noticed the
ubuntu terminal window flickering between a white filter on it, and the
terminal's normal appearance.
This happens whenever I run "ubuntu-bug" and the window asking me for
more information appears.

Can you check if you have intel-vbtn or intel-hid driver loaded? I would
think intel-vbtn.
Whichever it is a good experiment with the above comment is to blacklist
the module, rebuild initramfs and reboot. See if this helps.
If it does then it's likely a situation of this driver starting in wrong
