This was never fixed and since bug state cheating with no commit info ever
provided even if asked directly, will never be fixed. Nobody just cares and
I guess nobody even figured out who broke the kernel by which changeset and
when. Just buy another
Was this bug actually fixed? The status shows CLOSED CODE_FIX with a
last modified date of Dec 5 2018. I don't see any updates as to what was
corrected, and what version the fix will be put into?

Thanks Kai. Unfortunately it's still not ok. Interestingly now there is
no flickering per-se. What I see is display corruption and flickering
when refresh occurs - for example by moving the mouse or typing
something.
Is there anything else I can try at this point? Or any further

For myself, I have not got any other applications open, and I have not got any
Gnome shell extensions enabled (according to Gnome Tweaks).
There must be something significant about the fact that it only fails from the
Other Software tab, it works from the Ubuntu S/W, Updates and Developer Options

thanks for the attachments, however it looks like this is the output for
4.15.0-47, can you try to boot with an older kernel that without this
issue and provide these information again?
In the mean time, I am trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 on XFS file system
for the Dell G7 here
