Public bug reported:
Running autoremove tonight on a 13.10 machine being upgraded to 14.04, I
was informed by apt-get that I could delete no longer needed kernel

both stuck in ubuntu's bureaucratic limbo since 2012, if everything is
already fixed and commited.

As far as I can tell, this is fixed in 14.04.
However, as networking in 14.04 using my e1000e base adaptor appears to
be broken, my testing was restricted (appeared to receive packets but
not send anything). I couldn't install the ir-keytable package required
for testing.
I ended up booting 14.04
Seems to be related to KDE bug #324438
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324438) which was fixed in KDE bug
#329112 (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329112).
There is a patch and reference to a git commit in #329112 which claims
to have fixed the problem.

Public bug reported:
After booting the Ubuntu Live CD nightly build from 2014-01-29, Linux

Running tcpdump on the affected machine, I can see packets coming in, I
can see the DHCP packets going out, but I can't see any response to
these DHCP packets.

It seems that the behaviour desired by this bug is the default in Ubuntu
13.10.
Note too that there are people lobbying to be able to sleep on lid-close

I'm quite sure that this relates to running virtualbox - the system
crashes within 5 minuttes. Not running virtualbox does not make the
system unstable.

I think apport-collect most likely would require network access, which
funnily enough, I don't have. Maybe not even relevant for this case
either.
