1. Loading a 969.4 kB file takes 45 seconds and only loads about 10%. The file
is not corrupt - it loads correctly in 2.30.3 (10.04).

edubuntu live session. When I save something on my desktop, the related
icon is put over an already present one, moreover, if I try to move the
icon it comes back to the previous position as soon as the moving action

I have the same issue as described by previous posters, in fact I use the same
work-around as marc-heinz. This bug must have come from a long negligence since
it truly is as old as Unity itself.
It occured to me when using 11.04 (clean install), 11.10 (both clean and
