Can you try installing the pilot-link utilities, and see if you can connect
with "pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -l" (or try ttyUSB1, not sure which is correct

Here is the dmesg output for the mainline kernel
2.6.32-0206322410-generic. This also hangs, although it wasn't an
immediate hard lockup. First the input from the usb keyboard seemed to
die (mouse still worked). I tried switching to a text terminal to grab
output, but it had hung by the time I got

I had to also check "Use old SSL" as my Gtalk account said "Network
Error" without that checked. No idea why but as the "override Server
Settings" part of the dialogue says to use talk.google.com the cert
error should not appear (the cert is from that server)

Anyone who is having problems with the audio making your system unusable
for now enable glitch free temporarily (at least until this issue is
resolved). To do so:
1. Press alt+f2 type: gksudo gedit /etc/pulse/default.pa
2. Find the line that says "load-module module-udev-detect"
3. Change that lin
Also upgraded to 10.10 and seeing same behaviour. "Compose Messaage" seems to
ignore Charset Settings (i.e UTF-8).
When i look into Options->Character Encoding there is an new selectet entry
"us-ascii" at the end.
When selecting UTF-8 mails are readable again ...
