I can confirm also that my desktop is very unresponsive with the latest
ubuntu release 10.04. The issue seems to happen randomly and can be
present right after boot-up or later. Since there are times when
everything works responsive, I do not blame my processors performance
capability.

Find an UDF image (any DVD or BR ISO will do). Double click the Archive

I tested with Debian-Squeeze-amd64 and kernel 2.6.32-5 on same hardware:
precisely the same. Suspends and resumes once, with all hardware working
correctly.
Second suspend just frezzes system, power 15 watts up, cannot ssh into the
system, only hard RESET helps.

To be honest, I don't know if this bug is still present in Ubuntu. I
switched my graphics card from Ati to Nvidia and consequently am now
using the Nvidia driver(Nouveau). This solved the problem for me, which
means this bug was being triggered by the mesa Ati driver, and not by
ACPI co

confirmed that its definatly a 2.6.32 problem/bug
used 2.6.22 all night trying to make it freeze
and i mean i ran everything i have installed all at one time and not a

To make it clear we have multiple bugs which effects all Ubuntu Version
installing Fakeraid. The first is that you can not create pratition (
end up with red screen) The second is that you can not install grub2.
The third nobody test so far comes up if you use mdadm Grub2 is only
installed on one
Apport finally catched the crash during the work (not at startup/login).

I have also been experiencing the same error and failures, and have
produced nothing but junk cd's using GnomeBaker.
This bug (and it's handling) is an utter shock, and caught me off guard.
It gives an otherwise stellar distro a black eye. I wish the team luck
with it and better decision making in
the only working "fix" i found so far is installing shiki-colors; they have an
extra setting for window borders:

Was able to resolve my resume after suspend issue by disabling KMS.
Edit the file: /etc/default/grub and replace GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" with
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodeset"
The bootloader will need to be updated in the terminal using: sudo update-grub.
This may not be a fix for all graphic cards

Same for me here. Having problems with this since Karmic (?) maybe
earlier. Blanking a CD/DVD doesn't work for ages, solved this with
buying Nero. I hope this could be fixed someday.

This is a MAJOR problem for me, I can't even get ubuntu to boot because
