No good news for now :( With 2.6.34 kernel (with no patches applied),
suspend doesn't even work once. Even with a raw "echo mem >
/sys/power/state", the kernel freezes somewhere just before entering
suspend state. But this problem is outside this bug, I hope to solve it
soon.

I see this too in Lucid. Seems like kaffeine thinks the CD consists of
only one track. If you do the "forward one track" button it immediately
stops; if you wait for the first track to finish it also stops.

Easy workaround is to load v4l1-compat:
#!/bin/bash
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so webcam-server -d /dev/video0 ...

Could you please describe in details what happened when the installation locked
up ?
Did you already installed other linux distribution on that system or is it the
first time ?
Do you have some kind of "boot sector virus protection" BIOS setting enabled ?

I have the same problems on a acer one A150.
The solution for me was to download the linux-image-generic from karmic,
2.6.31-20, and install it with dpkg -i
Reboot with the karmic kernel and now the card functions properly again. (As it
did in karmic)
