I was watching many youtube videos. It tends to crash for different

your machine is set up? What disks and partitions do you have? Where

so what are the plans to fix this error for the 9.04 LTS version? or is
it not reproducible for anyone else?
i also found out that my other odd errors are from my mangled
/etc/passwd file. what happened is that the System -> Users and Groups
basically made my groups file the same as the one attac

my problem is probably solved now:
enabling the karmic-proposed repository lead to installing kernel 2.6.31-18 and
other updates which solved my problem. since installing this kernel I
experienced no more unexpected freezes.
