64bit with all latest updates applied as at time of this writing. No
matter what I put into my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf the only thing
that really works is a "sudo alsa force-reload" (sound/pcm levels aren't

the effect plays an example, click Cancel.
Result: Audacity has frozen and has to be killed.

After filing bug report I regressed to Audacity package 1.3.4-1ubuntu1.
This version does not have the problem and works fine for Effects
previewing.

Hi,
Adding this to wishlist is pointless.
The bug is not invalid. It is a bug.
It would make sense to get rid of the bug first and putting in a nice
error message instead. Then it would make sense to choose between
supporting openssh-client flags entirely, or not at all.

@pitti -- a late resume failure is literally a hang very late in the
resume process, specifally after the desktop is aware the machine is up

Using the the alternate installer cd it is working now on my machine
:-))
In case you have the same problem or need some infos about my system I attached
the outout of hwinfo --short (in short_hwinfo.txt).
