The installation of the patched kernel package for AMD64 (kernel-image) kill
the 3D acceleration of my computer. I have ATI Radeon HD3200 graphic card and
need the proprietary drivers to have acceleration, the installation of the
patched kernel don't keep to activate the proprietary driver.

I'm not using the network manager, so I disconnected with ifdown; after ifup,
my search domain list contained comma's again.

This is the data from one of the two Laptops (both dont work so i think it

I do think the problem has something to do with the parallel-to-usb cable. not
the cable itself but the driver support in karmic (do these cables need a

using Windows 7, and I have a Dell Vostro 1520 but without any Dell
software (at least, no backup tool). I cannot pinpoint the software in

I have what may be the same problem, and have also noticed that the
"Analog Stereo Output" profile is missing from the list of profiles in
pavucontrol in Karmic (only 4.1, 5.0, and 5.1 profiles area available
for output); the USB sound device worked just fine for me in Jaunty too,

best response i can give you is, unfortunately, that there are serious
issues with 9.10 karmic in some configurations.
you can add your own xorg.conf in karmic to get things working (pretty
much just as explained above), but for me at least there are still
constant crashes and calibration

machine. Not even once.

i don't have the console, but when i boot it in recovery-mode (so i can
watch where the problem is) it freezes while saying: loading apparmor
profiles. can i turn those off? because in a few occasions the laptop
DID boot on battery power. but after a reboot it still doesn't!
