That worked. I'm using Ubuntu with Gnome. Is the Metacity compositor
turned off on the assumption that people will use the 3D blobs? Would

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 RC but the same thing happens since Hardy Heron.
In my laptop when I press Fn + F5 or F6 to increase or decrease volume,
even with a light touch, it acts like I holded it pressed, the volume
turns down, no matter what I do, and then the pc stop answering
I can confirm this bug. In my case everything works fine after I have
entered an remainder for an (unbounded) repeating event. KOrganiser has
no problems to parse and use the calender.ics file. Deleting the
remainder from the repeating event solved this problem in my case.

My main laptop just froze again shortly after I resumed it (syslog

I've found a little workaround which seems to prevent the connection
drops, this workaround is pretty simple, I keep a terminal running a
ping to my wifi hotspot and so, no more problem.

On a brand new install of the same system (same install disc: Kubuntu
9.04 RC amd64 alternative) on the same hardware (Dell Inspiron E1505 /
6400 Intel Duo Core, 2 GB RAM, ATI x1400 Mobile Radeon) the system locks
up randomly after no more than 10 minutes of use. Sometimes the screen
blanks on lock
