The Luxi fonts look great when unhinted, but they are just ugly when
hinted. Maybe there is no hinting data in the font itself and freetype
has to do auto-hinting, I do not know.
Since Luxi does not take well to hinting, hinting should be disabled.

Quick scan of dependencies (configure.in) and Changelog shows there's no
need for python to be (< 2.6). Someone should try to install the recent
version of desklets from source on Jaunty to check if it works fine. If
something's wrong log a defect for gdesklets to fix problems with python
2.6.

Nope. I'm using a plain Lenovo ThinkPad T500, but I had this problem too
on my old ThinkCentre. As a matter of fact I'm baffled by the fact that

almost vanilla sources: Arch Linux 2009. To my surprise X.Org X Server
1.5.3 seems to work flawlessly even without the "NoDDC" option. So this
bug is probably due to a weird patch downstream.

I am just trying to compile a piece of old software (surf/surfex) and
ran into the same trouble. The repository has gcc-3.4 but not g++. It

I confirm this bug on Jaunty. Pidgin is not usable anymore if you don't
use a tray icon because "close" is now associated with "hide in the
tray" even if the tray icon option is not activated.
IMHO, it has nothing to do with the indicator applet.

I can confirm this on current Jaunty (patched today) with 2.6.28-8 and
nvidia driver 180. Seems to happen mostly when scrolling pages in
Firefox at about 25% CPU load on one core, under 10% load on the other.
I am playing audio from Banshee (newest version from the Jaunty repos).

Well, more on this bug. I had an error in my options file since I
copied the line above without proofreading it first. It should start
with the word options emphasis on plurality. I should have noticed this
when looking in the file earlier, but I didn't. Still however after
changing that option
