When I try to connect to a WPA network the wpa_supplicant.log is:

The Intrepid release does not fix this problem. It remains broken despite
bug reports going back over a year. It's a Linux kernel problem and won't

Well, if the error is indeed related to caching, the bug is that the X
server is unable (or unwilling) to free some of the buffers when running
out of memory. I would suppose that a cache has some kind of limit, but,
as it is now, there seems to be none (nor there is any mechanism to free
the cache

Well, History and Bookmarks have been joined together in Firefox 3 - the
only difference between a history item and a bookmark seems to be an extra
flag on the bookmark. Splitting this functionality would create code
duplication. Also, implementing searches engines will probably be very
similar as

This affects me too (8.10, thinkpad x60) and has been a pain for a long
time now (certainly was present in Hardy, can't remember back to Gutsy).
Experimentation shows two distinct problems.
a) "on battery power" -> "reduce backlight brightness" When selected
this sets the normal brightness to 50%
I created an Ubuntu 8.10 install CD and tried to boot off that; it also
powered down the system after some amount of time. The system got to
the point where it was trying to load the desktop, then shut off.
