I have Intrepid and I can confirm that there is a problem in enigmail
where it is impossible for the passphrase to be cleared. Setting time
for it to be cleared fails. Closing Thunderbird and reopening fails. The
passphrase is retained in memory. Really, significantly insecure.

I don't use Gedit, but I do see this problem in Firefox frequently. It
seems to be worse in Intrepid than it was in Hardy, but I don't have any
qualitative evidence of that. It is definitely worse on directories with
a large number of files as opposed to directories with only a few files.

GRUB wasn't installed! I don't know why, but the problem was grub not installed.
Now I have installed it and all work fine.
Even if the package manager said it wasn't installed, every time i turned on
ubuntu grub was there..
All the problems around linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic are now disappered.

A friend of mine has the same problem.
She uses Ubuntu (started with Hardy, updated 2 weeks ago to Intrepid)
and has the problem with Times New Roman unbold (not with bold). She

this issue occured in 8.04 and 8.10 version of kubuntu (i still have 2 machines
running 8.04 and 8.10 and this happens on both of them)
i have gone back to using gnome (ubuntu) rather than kde 4 (kubuntu)
i did fix the problem on kubuntu 8.10 by removing all kde bluetooth
packages and installing

Still, this driver for me only works with WEP encryption, no WPA at all.
And sometimes connection drops to 2-3%, but never gets lost, as in the

within grub. Please note that it still tells me I should boot with
irqpoll enabled, even though I already did:

I installed linux-backports-modules-intrepid and have not noticed any
changes over the past few days with it installed. My network card has
failed at least 5-6 times during the past 3-4 days while doing
everything from nothing to internet browsing to playing Diablo II over

I have 12 Mbit and the connection is unreliable but with ndiswrapper I have
54Mbit and detection fiable.
If I use b43 and b43-fwcutter, and on other ssid ( farest ),
NetworkManager shows a good signal, but in reality with ndiswrapper this
must be a lower signal : see
