I can confirm the strange behaviour;
Was trying to print a .pdf with landscape pages in it, so i've selected
Landscape from Print Setup.
In the Print dialog, under Page Setup dialog, i have:
Pages per Side: 4
Page Ordering: Left to right, top to bottom

Here is the patch I propose to fix this. The patch adds a check in
do_start() which scans the contents of the PID file (if it exists), and
checks that the PID belongs to a running instance of system-tools-
backends. If it does, then it exits gracefully.
This patch is already in Jaunty (and Debian)
Ok finally got my hands on the camera and was able to test this. Works
all perfect now. I think one of the updates to f-spot-import-
gphoto.dpatch fixed this. Anyways it works so it is no longer a problem.
Sadly there is no closed option, so I don't know what to change the
status to.

Could you post your original slapd.conf file (ie before the upgrade was
done)? You should find in var/backups/slapd-2.4.9-0ubuntu0.8.04.1/. Make
sure to remove private information (such as root password rootpw).

I juste installed Ubuntu 8.10 64bits on a 64bits PC equiped with nVidia
GeForce 6800 Ultra video card.
The desktop effects did not work, so I go to System/Administration/Restricted
drivers where three version were proposed :
- 96
- 173
- 177 (recommanded)
When I select
Before the 173 activation, the restricted drivers tool said me "a
different version of the driver is in use" when I selected the 177. Now,
I returned to "nv" driver from the recovery mode and il restricted
drivers, 173 tells me that.

Yes, with this BIOS upgrade I was able to boot the ubuntu generic kernel on the
atom 230 (single core) as well.

Indeed. The good news is that it's not a security issue -- this is
likely some strange behavior responding to the USB plug event, and
trying to reach dbus or similar on localhost. I've opened the bug to
the public so other developers can try to help out. Thanks for all the

I can confirm that the crash for me is also a segfault in "libatk-
bridge.so" (checked this with gdb).
Evolution is *extremely* flaky for me in Intrepid. I am open to any
options, if anyone has suggestions. :(
