Fantastic, I've just tested it and it works great.
I did have an error in Synaptic during installation, but I think it was just
because the update manager was running at the same time.
Shame DVBCut looks so clunky, but its a really good bit of software!
Thanks:-)

[needs-packaging] DVBCut -
adding 'options snd-hda-intel model=dallas' to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
solves the problem. However, the signal is weak and sound is not loud.
With the same amplifier I get 3 times louder sound with a CD player than
with the computer.
Changing the status to triaged.

have snd_hda_intel support anymore (the module does not exist). Can

This keeps periodically re-breaking itself when one updates the system.
To fix it this time I had to do:
sudo apt-get uninstall tz-data
sudo apt-get install tzdata=2008b-1ubuntu1
sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jre-headless

I noticed a new update to compiz this morning in software update. So,
went to change Visual Settings (in Appearance) to 'Normal', which used
to kick this error off for me.
It doesn't any more. Yay.
It kicks this error off instead. Boo!
