Public bug reported: I don't think it is a real big issue, but I just updated a bunch of packages including a new kernel image with adept updater. Of course I received the "reboot system required". It appeared in the moment when the kernel image got installed. In this case it was when about 50 % of the packages were installed and installing continued for about 1 to 2 minutes.
I don't know what it would mean for the user, if he receives the message and does what he would have done in the "other" os: reboot the computer immediately. He would have cancelled the update of the remaining packages, in the worst case in a state requiring to go to the console and do a "sudo dpkg --configure -a". That would be a very bad user experience. My suggestion is that the reboot notification is shown after all packages are installed not during installing the packages. That is in the moment adept updater shows the finished message. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid] Adept: Reboot notification is displayed before all packages are installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281634 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
