I can also confirm the problem with the ubuntu intrpeid beta release on an
HP/Compaq 6715s. The system is very very slow.
Ubuntu Hardy with 2.6.24-19 kernel worked fine but the wlan wasn't working, so

I have an Acer 9920 with an 4965 chipset. This machine has a kill switch
which is a toggle and it defaults to ON (killed) always. I have the same
problem: after booting the killswitch is always ON. Toggling it in 8.04
would enable the wireless properly. In 8.10 nothing happens. No state

I can not get F5Networks firepass SSLVPN to install in Firefox 3. I was able
to get it to work with Firefox 2 in Hardy.
Now I can not install Firefox 2 because of a dependency with libhunspell.
The error I get when trying to add the plugin/F5Network/SSLVPN in

xkbevd. Perhaps this should be setup by default with a beeping sound of
some sort, if the pcspkr driver was removed intentionally.

I tried out the 2008.10 Alpha 6 version of Ubuntu (x86) with a computer
that has a Geforce 6600 LE 256mb attached to a Benq T241W 1920x1200 LCD.
This system works fine under Vista.
When I tried the "live mode" (no installation), it would boot linux,

My verbose boot-up hangs occasionally at "Loading hardware drivers" too,
and I wonder if this is related to my WiFi card (Buffalo AirStation
PCMCIA WLAN card) and bw43-fwcutter. Choosing either "Recovery mode" or

Thanks for the reply. This error is reproducible. Since I last reported this
problem things have got a little worse.
To recreate - put CDR in drive. Click on ISO file (Intrepid Beta) and select
Wrirte to Disk. Use CDDVDW SH-S202J (Only drive listed). Use slowest speed
