I booted from Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha5 Live-CD and did a "dmesg". All
"AGP" and "IOMMU" relevant messages seem to be the same as with 8.04. I
have done no suspend testing, since it needs nvidia binary drivers
installed on my system to resume.
grep "AGP" dmesg-intrepid
[0.004000] No AGP bridge

I have the same issue on Kubuntu 8.04 32 bit, Dell E521 AMD 64 bit dual
core. It ejects the tray and stops responding (IE close the tray by hand
and it just sits there), but mine does not lock up. I can cancel and get
a verify error. I seem to remember this from 7.04, and that it was
related to the

hum, on a second thought I'm not sure if x11proto-input would be the
real target.. maybe it would be best to fix all the packages which used
to build-depend on x11proto-input-dev and check if they include XInput.h
and if yes, change the build-dep to libxi-dev.

This sounds like a kernel not getting the local quirks right issue.

Is this bug permission-caused?
I just experienced a missing desktop menu icon on 8.04.1 after having
run xdg-desktop-menu via root on a non-live session tree, and when re-
running the command as root on the actual running session (live CD
creation project!) it did add the icon to the desktop.

Binary package hint: gnome-panel
In Ubuntu Hardy Heron, gnome-panel 1:2.22.2-0ubuntu1.1, when setting the
panel to be transparent, or semi-transparent, it hides windows
underneath it, and just shows the desktop background instead (see
attached screenshot).
