The above attached files were taken when I booted with acpi=off and
quiet and splash were removed from my grub boot entry.
When I just removed splash & quiet it got stock on an apci entry,which I

driver with jockey, but it took me a while to figure out which version
of the driver supports which graphic card, and which driver is alpha,

I am now using nfs4, and it works reliably. It's a 2.6.24-21 kernel.
My previous nfs4 problems seem configuration-related. I was trying to
mount parts of the same exported file system in two different places.

a non-root user, so it's probably a permissions issue.
I've burnt a LiveCD and am testing it now. The first boot seemed to
freeze at the desktop, panels still blank. The mouse cursor could be
moved around the screen

Ah, a little investigation shows that you must be using an old
version (from packagekit's perspective, it has had several releases
recently). The apt backend has been re-written, so I can't directly
check if these problems are present.

I have the same problem with Firefox and Audacious. It seems to happen
somewhat randomly if I stop play in audacious while Firefox is open.
Thing is, it's not that audacious is playing the song but I can't hear
anything, it actually wont play the song. It hangs trying to access it
until I I close
Using Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.1 i386 and the problem is still there.

Hi,
So, I just remembered to test this on Intrepid, and it now
no longer launches rhythmbox, and launches nautilus instead,
so I am closing this report.

Have the same problem on a Zepto 6214w (danish company). Intel cpu, chipset,
wireless.
normal boot on ac, but hangs on boot on battery, then if I press and hold space
(?!?!?!?) it continues the boot process after while as usual. Releasing space
before, and it hangs again.

In this case you would need to set the "Virtual" setting in you
xorg.conf. The capplet should tell you to do this, and in new versions
will do so, and with screen-resolution-extra installed offer to do it.

I confirm this bug, I burned the alternate daily image (from 30th August) of
Intrepid Ibex on both a CD and DVD disc and in both cases at the very beginning
of the installation process the installer says it can't find the CD. My
hardware is pretty new so I guess more people will experience this.
