It appears that the version check only prints the availability of the
new version in the logfile, so this is harmless and should be leaved.
In the meantime, amule 2.2.2 was released (which include changes to defy

1) uninstall the driver from the NVIDIA installer by stopping the Xserver and
typing sudo sh name_of_the_installer --uninstall
2) try to reinstall xserver-xorg-core and libgl1-mesa-glx

Yes, /etc/default/laptop_mode seems more sane as a second config file
for laptop-mode-tools.
As you mentioned in Bug #250935 we have to keep in mind that enabling
the laptop-mode-tools by default is in fact a necessary change to fix
the load cycling issue for example.

Alexey, you did good in making the patch acceptable. (And since you had
success, even better!)
So second step would be to flip the settings the right way.
hdparm -B254 needs to be reintroduced because bug #172282 has changed
that setting in the meantime.

I have used the live CD to test Suspend to RAM.
It worked for 2 times.
Then on resume I saw a blank screen again. I assumed seeing the same problem as
before and while I was getting my other computer ready to test the network the
resume succeeded.
The long resume times happen about every 3rd time

settings to match acpi-support and add hooks for pm-utils) has migrated

mentioned that the developer of PulseAudio finds that Ubuntu's
implementation of PulseAudio is messed up, giving users the impression
that PulseAudio itself is to blame.
I do not know what kind of *enhancements* Ubuntu develo
as for me - it crashed after updating to the new gnome-settings-daemon ,
loggin out and then logging in (btw the GTK theme is not restored also)
