In Rescue Mode, open the terminal prompt into the installed system
Find lxfb.ko and delete it off the filesystem & reboot

It's an ugly workaround but it keeps lxfb from loading &

I understand the need for upgrading xournal, but it's not clear to me
that merging from Debian is a good idea for this package anymore. We

OK I'm in 8.04 again, and have to say that there were no instructions
with the repository set of DVD's and CD's for 8.04, which I got in May
the first set and when I ran into problems with Add CD not working, I
told the Flipside Technologies about it and he sent me a new set that
arrived here just

This MUST be fixed, SOON. I just spent three hours going around in
circles, thinking my video card was damaged somehow, or that the hard
disk had corrupted some binaries, because every time I tried to log in
to KDE with KDM, it simply restarted X! I booted into Windows, Knoppix,
Ubuntu 7.10, and
I clicked on Add CD - The Please insert disk in drive dialog comes up.
