The bug still exists in Intrepid as the source package of LyX 1.5.5-1 in Intrepid failed to build (apparently because of a problem with the boost dependency). However, a related bug, Bug #242648, was fixed since LyX 1.5.5-1 (with no changes) was uploaded to Hardy Backports and binary packages were successfully built.
