I also have this problem. To reproduce I used Hardy and Gutsy. I am
using GeForce 9600 GT with the proprietary driver, Compiz is on.
Do someone already have a workaround? Did someone report this to Gnome?

I've just tried Abiword 2.6 on hardy from that repository given above :
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/abiword-stable/ubuntu hardy main
Please note that i'm french and default option in Abiword 2.6 was inche instead
of centimeter
i don't know if that issue is related to the package or to Abiword it
With every release, we hope that the problems we are having are solved,
but they never are. We keep creating our own packages of, amongst
others, openmpi based on Debias Sid. I see now that Gutsy will not see
version 1.2.6. This goes for openmpi in general, not any specific bugs.
