Eric, that should be ok. Normal users do not have permission to access
internal hard disk partitions. (Well, in GNOME you can mount them
through PolicyKit, but virt-manager doesn't go that far yet, and those
partitions must not be mounted).

I upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 and experience the same problem - I have an
Asus M2R32-MVP motherboard with the ATI SB600 Southbridge, and since the
upgrade, the kernel will not boot because it doesn't recognize the SATA

(32-bit version) on my AMD Athlon X2 5600+ server.

Same problem for me: I upgraded a critical machine from 6.06LTS to
8.04LTS, and I end up with a non-working GDM, very frustrating... I
cannot type login and password, but I can switch consoles (e.g. Ctrl-
Alt-F1) so the keyboard is *somehow* functional in GDM! Mouse is OK, and
keyboard works fine i
I'm suprised to see the importance hasn't been set. No one cares about
it? For people like me who love to use Ubuntu at work it's a real
problem! Could somebody set a higher priority on this bug?
