I upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 and experience the same problem - I have an Asus M2R32-MVP motherboard with the ATI SB600 Southbridge, and since the upgrade, the kernel will not boot because it doesn't recognize the SATA drive where Linux resides.
This problem existed before - see bug #75055 - but it had obviously been corrected in the 2.6.22 kernel I was running. But in the 2.6.24 kernel of 8.04, it's back! The work-around for me was to add "pci=nomsi" to the boot parameters, but YMMV. -- Fails to recover SATA devices SB600 after Kubuntu Hardy install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
