I may be pointing out the obvious here, but it appears that the
characters that have gone missing when printing to postscript are all
ligatures. I can't reproduce the problem here (I see the same thing
that Sebastien does, namely misplaced characters), but the fact that
they're ligatures suggests

scanner driver is working properly. HOWEVER, when I start xsane as root

Yesterday I upgraded Hardy (it was a partial upgrade) and Firefox 3 is
removed by the upgrade. I have Firefox 2.0.0.13 now and it crashes quite
frequently (especially when I play flash videos from Metacafe). I
ignored the first two crashes - later I am not able to find out the
dumps in /var/crash.
Yes, that mirrors my case. I have found that many dialog boxes will
cause the specific application to crash. Starting Thunderbird, entering
the package manager, etc. Existing applications work OK but without the
SHIFT/ALT/CTR. Opening a new window often causes an application crash.
Have you tried
The original bug still exists in fully up-to-date (4/6) Hardy.
I do not experience Sebastian's problem but the terminal warning is
still there.

I know that fglrx tends to break suspend, but I have not installed any
restricted drivers (yet). This is a stock install.

OK, I figured out both.
The uid is the user ID which is always 1000 for the current user
The gid is the users group ID and it is always 1000 for the default
group the user is in.

Adding libgnome-dev to the build dependencies fixes the gnomeConf.sh
issue but then it fails with the following error:
checking for Glade libraries.. configure: error: Did not find
libGlade installed
Installing libglade2-dev doesn't help.

Found the problem. When I updated the kernel, I didn't allow it to
update menu.lst. So the grub menu was still set to 2.6.24-12. All I
needed to do was change the 12 to a 15 in menu.lst. Everything is
working now. Wireless and sound are back.

When I printed the Virginia tax form, it would not print at all. It

I'm the reporter. I noticed that this bug seems to occur mostly (or is
it even only?) when flash is handled through a blocker extension such as
flashblock or noscript. The crashes occur when the flash plugin is
loaded for the second (or third or fourth...) time in a browser session.

installed and the module snd_hda_intel didn't work.
Kasimir : You are the first person who seems to have the same problem.
Maybe the bug come from a specific motherboard. Mine is a ASUS P5B-Plus.

F-Spot is running REALLY slow trying to edit any images, I have a pretty
fast machine so it shouldn't be doing this, imported 5 small images and
program using 150MB of RAM. Tried closing app and it gave me the
