I hate to complain, but I have hal-info 20080317+git20080318-1ubuntu2 on
my X31 now, and the backlight still stays on when I suspend the system.
The problem is *not* fixed for me... Is there anything I can do to help
track this down?

This stopped occurring after last yesterday's updates. It used to happen
every time theme changes. Theme manager was emerald. Did not happen with

As far as I can tell, this fixes my problem with an NVidia Geforce Go
7300. If there is a seperate ATI issue, it should be broken into a

That's pretty much it, I was watching the clock on my desktop's panel while
configuring a few servers to use ntpdate, and I noticed the clock seems to
freeze for about 2 seconds every 5 to 10 seconds.

Sorry, no I didn't get asked which display manager I wanted. At least -
I don't remember having been asked; I don't think I'd have gone

Thanks for chasing me!
Due to installing dual screen capability I had to reinstall Ubuntu
completely. I lost all my mail data.
The problem with my mail however is now fixed by the reinstalling
unfortunately I can not tell you why.
Or if Chantra's solutions would have fixed it.
