You probably have synchronisation with Pidgin enabled on Evo -- See Preferences/Mail Preferences/Automatic Contacts. Then what will happen is every so often the synchronisation will start -- for each buddy in Pidgin Evo will search for a match in the Contacts; if not found, then it will add it in.
