Solved -- What no one is saying ANYWHERE that I can find, is that the RSS plugin is turned on.
If you don't want to be forced to subscribe to an RSS feed - Turn it off. Thanks to someone complaining loud enough about so many plugins being turned on by default. That post caught my eye and I checked my plugin list. (Yes, I downloaded them all) The replys to their problem didn't even explain that to them... they can't default on if they're not installed.
