Sorry for my last long post,
The idea is to leave the local script file as its shipped by default,
and only add the mdadm script file to /usr/share/initramfs-tools/local-
top directory.
Finally don't forget to rebuilt the boot image issuing "sudo update-
initramfs -u" as suggested by Plnt.

reset my bois it drops to busy box with in the first 10 secs of booting.
But If i do reset the bois then it boots perfectly.

When set to None CTRL+ALT+ENTER works fine.

Ok, I now understand that this is another security feature, not a bug.
In earlier Ubuntu releases (not sure which) I was able to activate the
superuser root account by giving it a known password. That has changed,
which is fine, I guess.

Exactly, it needs always a change in Ubuntu.. because only changing the
Depends on gcu-plugin isn't the only thing to change. A patch which that
lsb_release matchs "Ubuntu" as the distro and apply it do Debian dir
when compiled, am I right? :)

Are those logs from right after the crash? (Xorg only keeps them for
one reboot) They don't appear to record one.
Does your screen go blank when the system freezes? If it does, then
flashes between off and black with a "busy" mouse pointer several times,
that's probably bug 120834.

I can confirm this bug when working with MP3 files. Nautilus debug log
attached, although I don't think it will be of much use.
I ran lsof and compared results between a fresh boot and when the
problem is occurring. It seems to be characterized by nautilus opening
an extremely large number of pi
Does anyone have a reliable way to reproduce this yet?
I was debugging another bug (Pango-cairo / pango-win32 font rendering
under Wine), and discovered that running a gtk-demo or pango-viewer, I
could _very_ frequently cause this bug to manifest.
Unfortunately, the combination of wine + gtk apps
Further data:
Opening a folder that contains mp3 causes the system to "leak" file
handles:

(open Music folder, open a few subfolders, then close nautilus)

Of course, it would be really nice if xrandr would handle these things
on its own. .. or perhaps the wacom drivers should detect screen

Similar behavior on Kubuntu with guidance-power-manager on an HP
Pavailion DV6000T.
Closing screen can cause the backlight to shut-off altogether. Noting
that the brightness level per guidance-power-manager is 0.
Setting the brightness levels in guidance-power-manager makes the
brightness change

All I did to get it working was fully upgrade the kernel. There was an
update to 2.6.22-14 a couple weeks ago, and I decided to try it again
and it worked this time. Does the linked duplicate describe your
problem, too, Jayhawk?
