kernel. (Ubuntu's 2.6.22 kernel doesn't boot on this machine.)
The only solution I found was to rm /etc/udev/75-persistent-net-generator.rules

I have had a similar problem with the current Hardy---but in my case I
couldn't manually change the time---getting a "The configuration could
not be saved" message---looks to be a permissions error--happened
shortly after the last tzdata update. Prior to the update, I could
change the time manually

Note that this small problem leaves Gobuntu users with no usable browser
(to, for example, browse the Internet to find out that they need to
create symlinks). Can we make the epiphany package create the symlinks

That's because compiz needs 3D support which your card lacks, and since
it's using vesa that's not going to happen. In hardy you can use the
proprietary fglrx which should work with compiz.
