K3B complains that it is not possible to burn files larger than 4GB and
the file is not added to the project. The file size in my case is 4,3GB

This problem is also present on IBM Thinkpad T20 series. I had to change
to the VESA driver, on 7.04 (Edgy) as well as 7.10 (Gutsy).
In both cases, I installed using the Alternate-CD
I changed to VESA by booting into text mode and I then gave the command:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Firefox hangs when any I click on any popup link. I selected/deselected
the popup-blocker option from firefox preferences.. but does not work.

Fixed!
Try editing /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base as root (i.e. "sudo gedit
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base") and adding the following to the end of the
file:
options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=3stack
Then restart the system (restarting alsa wasn't enough for me).

I had a very similar problem, although I think I was able to resolve it
more completely. I saw this on two of my three systems. Both affected
systems were x86 (one SATA one PATA) which were originally instal

when firefox freezes
do you have anything in the /var/crash directory concerning firefox, if
so please double click on it in the nautilus file browser - this should
start apport which will send useful information about the cras
so it isn't still a real fix :(
