Yes, you're right.
I noticed that /usr/bin/vmnet-natd was running so I killed it and the
re-install worked afterwards. My VM was not completely shutdown when I
initially re-installed and it caused the vmnet-natd to hang on to the vmnet
module.

I've isolated the problem further... It seems that gutsy is not
detecting when there is a media change. My D400 CDRW is external, and
when I unplug and replug in the drive with my desired media, it works
fine. But any new media I put in is not recognised.

I upgraded my Breezy to Dapper. gxine in Dapper can not play media file in
correct aspect ration while gxine in Breezy works fantastic.
Mplayer also have this problem, but it can be fixed. Just add

I can now add that Xubuntu has the same problem with the Radeon 9250,
but not the Radeon 7000. And I meant to say 1280x1024 not 1280x800!
I am very frustrated as I have never had any problems with Ubuntu or any
of its derivatives on any of my computers although I have with some

The system was unable to get the prerequisites for the upgrade. The
upgrade will abort now and restore the original system state.
Please report this as a bug against the 'update-manager' package and
include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.

It prompted me to upgrade to a gutsy gibbon. I m not using fiesty
anymore. I made the mistake of installing the beta version of gutsy
gibbon. I use Kubuntu.

Same here. I made a fresh install yesterday and today I a message popped up
saying that I should upgrade to the latest version. When I click OK the updater
works for a while and then recognizes that I already have 7.10 installed and
exits.

In the kubuntu installer (tested on gutsy and feisty), if you choose to
format an existing fat32 partition as ext3, the partition's system id is
not changed. This causes grub-install to fail (see bug #128668).

BTW, also for me changed my timezone to Europe/Berlin then wrote sudo
dpkg --configure and it worked, everything was configured correctly
tzdata, util-linux and languages packages. Then I changed back my
timezone to America/Argentina/Buenos Aires.

i read the license and as far i can see (correct me if im wrong) what it
says that you can download and use it for free and that you can
distribute it provided you give them credit (which is understandable)
and that you can modify it as long as you dont use there name or logo
(still understandable)

(default). neither of these kernels will boot. Are you saying that the
2.6.22-13-386 kernel worked for you as opposed to the 2.6.22-13-generic?

The problem disappeared (hopefully) for me after disabling as many
Evolution plugins as I could. If we can confirm this behavior then we
could narrow the bug location to one particular plugin. I'm looking
forward to see some feedbacks on this observation.
