not display small and nice). To have framebuffer in Ubuntu, I have to
put in /boot/grub/menu.lst as a kernel option, vga=791. This worked in
Feisty. But in Gutsy, this option causes the consoles (the ttys)

know what it is called, since I never bother to change it. When I go
into Appearance Preferences -> Theme, the "Custom" is highlighted, but

Yes, dropping Roaming Mode (which is meant to switch automatically
between available physical network devices, e.g. mixing RJ45 cables and
occasional Wi-Fi, right ?) and switching to regular DHCP configuration
has restored Internet connectivity on my Gutsy client.

I tried starting the live CD 7.10 i386 installation using F6 and deleting
"quiet" and "splash" from bootparameters.
Doesn't work for me! Could my SLI System (2x ASUS 8800GTS ) beeing the problem?
With the 7.04 Live CD I am at least able to get into a console and
install the latest NVIDIA dri

I went through your suggestions - and /etc/blkid.tab was definitely wrong.
I've since run the blkid command to rebuild this file since it is described
as a "cache file".
However, references to /dev/mapper (which was removed) would indicate that
it isn't actually rebuilt.

and no errors with autospeed burn, tested with iso burning and data cd (more

with ssl (if ssl=no then everything is ok)

Is there anyway we can just pre-compile some kernels with SLAB (along
with whatever modules maybe needed), and just host it somewhere, or

Ok, I've found the .gtk-bookmarks, I'm attaching it.
I don't have "/home/username/file:/home" listed in .gtk-bookmarks. I
have "file:///home" listed in it.
Did you try to bookmark your /home directory (not /home/username) and then
create "/home/username/file:/home" and then click on places->home

sorry for the delay - I forgot to say that since one month or so, I managed
to boot my Gutsy without using the Feisty kernel & ramdisk, just updgrading to
linux kernel 2.6.22-13-386.
I think the problem of the md module is gone in that release as I now
boot without problems... please let
