(20071010 amd64 RC iso, amd64, vmware) and the install went fine. Can
you reproduce this? If so, can you please look in Alt+F4 to see whether

I have the same problem described above using feisty 7.04 (2.6.20-16-generic).
USB randomly stops working and reattaching the devices does not work.
I tried:

resolutions using the vga kernel parameter. If I don't use this
parameter, I have standard VGA text mode (80x25) but usable VTs. This is

I found that after kobodl crashes I can start it a second time and it
works then, i.e. the crashes are not 100% reproducible.

I installed 2.6.15-29 as well as the backports-modules, but it seems that the
backported modules are not taken into the initrd.
So the kernel is still not able to mount the root filesystem :/

I didn't try, we receive too many bugs to work on everything. This one
has enough details and seems to be an upstream issue so I just sent it
to bugzilla since we don't have the ressources to work on it in an
Ubuntu specific way now
