When you activate the "use crossfading backend" in Rhythmbox, (and then
restart it), the player uses 100% CPU time when playing. It causes the
sound to be laggy when you sw
To activate it go Edition > Preferences > Lecture (in french, maybe
"Playing" tab in english)

ah! i see now, I hope they get it fixed, i think I might try going back
to older updates on the history tab for some tests tonight, u know what
- that's what i'll do if it does work that way i may be able to put this
in the right section or add one, etc..
.386 tho should strange to me on that one.
Then the language packs haven't probably been updates, the last time was
on 2nd of October.

in the last 10 days since Colin Watson (a maintainer of the installer)
acknowledged the workaround and said he would investigate, none of the
comments here have been remotely useful, but are spamming a fairly long
list of subscribers.
The bug has been fixed upstream now

Testing xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.1.1-0ubuntu7~bwh1_i386.deb
VT switch OK (used to work 100% for me anyway), DRI OK, XV OK, suspend OK
hangs on resume with the screen off. Not sure if it has anything to do with
your changes, though... Used to resume OK before.

Would indeed be nice. Perhaps the user could be told when the last
update (or check for updates) was performed, if he/she moves his/her
mouse over the update-manager icon, through a little drop-box/tooltip?
Now it says "Update manager Show and install available updates".
