Public bug reported: Ubuntu Gutsy, all updates installed, on a Toshiba Satellite SA50-112
In Ubuntu's Power Management Preferences, I have the display set to go to sleep after an hour of inactivity. Ever since I upgraded to Gutsy, after (what I assume is) an hour of inactivity, the display goes black but does not go to sleep. The fan starts up and continues indefinitely, suggesting that something is exercising the CPU heavily. The computer cannot be woken up again, either by touching the trackpad or the keyboard. I have to turn off the computer by holding down the power button, and restart Ubuntu. In previous versions of Ubuntu (at least 6.10 and 7.04) this worked fine. Please let me know what debugging information etc I should supply. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Ubuntu Gutsy, all updates installed, on a Toshiba Satellite SA50-112 In Ubuntu's Power Management Preferences, I have the display set to go to sleep after an hour of inactivity. - Ever since I upgraded from to Gutsy, after (what I assume is) an hour of + Ever since I upgraded to Gutsy, after (what I assume is) an hour of inactivity, the display goes black but does not go to sleep.
