1. this is not limited to changing ~/.bashrc. There are many other avenues for
infiltration via a trojan if the user installs untrusted applications.

It's more clear to me now. The 2.9.1.1 package did indeed not include
the favicon. However, this has already been fixed in the first 2.10.x
that entered Ubuntu. Hence this patch should be reverted since the
package already works correctly without it, and this only adds needless

I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy on a Dell Latitude D620 laptop with Intel
integrated video. See ddcprobe below.
X runs very well with the intel driver, although I'm using 915resolution
to get the native display resolution programmed
Hmmm. I have the same Dell Optiplex 745 and just updated Gutsy. Still I
encounter these problems described in the top.
I am not sure that is is using the i810 driver though... how do I make sure
Ubuntu does?

Hi Etienne,
unfortunatelly I do not know how much space needs to be kept free at the
end of the drive - I always assumed 100megs which worked for me (36G drives)
free space on the filesystem does not do the job.

Very slow resolution when using a route

My guess is that as a result, laptop mode has hardly been tested, at
least by ubuntu users. If you have a workaround, I'd like to apply it
locally so I can start exercising it here.

I have just seen today on the ubuntu-mobile list that in current gutsy there
are common problems with
GSlice crashes. So maybe it's a glib bug since gutsy has a recent unstable
