The problem is that the path that GTK searches for themes is based on
the user running the program. So, if you have a theme in ~/.themes, GTK
will not be able to find it when running as a different user.
As Al says, this has nothing to do with gksu, gksudo, sudo, or su, it's
simply that GTK is lo

kdesktop_lock doesn't respond to the keyboard if I
1) Suspend the machine (to disk, that is). If I just lock the screen, I can't

completely non-functional, as I cannot connect. Every time I plug in,
the USB device is different; even if I've set permissions on it before,
these are blown away. KPilot doesn't work as root either. I consistently
get I/O errors.
This patch is from 2.6.22-6.13 -> alsa-kernel mercurial changeset 5114.
It includes a few other fixes besides just the Realtek ALC268 support.
I have not tested this patch yet, but I will try to test it later
tonight.

Not only is samba not installed by default, which it should be but when

I remove /etc/rc2.d/S19cupsys and i do "invoke-rc.d cupsys" with a
system call when load my X program.. I work in kiosko mode with only one

What versions of the driver have you tried? I had this exact same bug
back in breezy / dapper flight 6. I have the same onboard NIC you have
as well. While I can't say I'm 100% positive that the bug is fixed I was
90% sure that it was fixed since I use some very graphics intensive
XWindows apps on
Is it possible that you have Beryl installed and that is what is causing
your windows to behave in such a way? I personally experienced issues
with windows that do not occur when Beryl is disabled.

In that case I cannot reproduce, I can use icons from my ~/Desktop with
no problems. Also, if you think this is a bad UI, etc you should file a
bug against gnome-panel and/or libgnomeui.
