I also have the same problem since I upgraded to Feisty (re-
installation) : sometimes, when I watch a video with Videolan, Ubuntu
totally freezes, nothing works more (mouse, keyboard...), the only

For the record: i crashed the system by purpose for the Xorg.0.log by
typing glxinfo - I don't know if that has any impact on the log file.

I have the exact same problem. Vaio B1XP laptop, ubuntu 7.04 feisty
fawn. Before kernel update suspend worked perfectly, after update when
waking up from suspend the laptop freezes.

Since Edgy you can use the same printer configuration tool as Fedora Core 6:
system-config-printer.
All you need to do is install the system-config-printer package.
We also have CUPS 1.2 since Dapper and the new GTK+ Print Dialog is already
used by evince since Edgy.
Therefore closing this bug as
I'm pretty sure this is a Pidgin issue and not directly related to
Ubuntu. Pidgin is flaky on Windows with file transfers too.

Having the same problem here.
Printers are HP Laserjet 1200 and HP Deskjet 895cxi, both connected via USB.

xine-ui don't crash, but the controls are not visible in fullscreen
mode. Older releases of xine-ui don't behave like this. i think that the
controls are behind the video layer.

I found out that this just happens with Metacity. I tested xine-ui with
openbox and compiz and the controls are visible in the fullscreen mode.

On my system (Ubuntu 7.04, AMD64 with kubuntu-desktop installed) I found
the font error to be due to the default font, named "Sans Serif". If I
switched this font to Bitstream Vera Sans, the error went away. I could
not reproduce the segfault, however, even with the "bad" font. For your

the same problem. However, I just uninstalled and reinstalled as you
