The bug appears to be related to a change in Edgy where the hostname was
added to the /etc/hosts file as 127.0.1.1. There are many threads
(google 127.0.1.1) where this has caused performance problems. It looks
like cups is looking up your machine's IP address based on hostname,
finding the entry

Scott, the actual code patch looks fine, there are just some packaging
issues:
* Do not change maintainer fields for dapper and edgy, their package tools
have not been tested for this.
* Please use 1.2.3-1ubuntu0.1 for dapper-proposed and 1.3.0-1ubuntu1.1 for
edgy-proposed.
* Changelog: Pleas
Then that leaves us with a higher version numbered package in
dapper-proposed that is unpatched. If that SRU ever gets released we'll
re-introduce the vulnerability.

ah ok I understand. I had already see that my computer wasn't as
efficient as in windows XP with which I can run the 'Toshiba Power
Saver' program. Program that is really good.

Oops, apport fails to retrace this report.
When trying to do it by hand I just get:
gunzip: CoreDump.gz: unexpected end of file
So at some point the coredump file got corrupted (maybe while uploading
it).
Please, DougL, could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the
instructions o
I uploaded this again with a corrected changelog and with updated help
text.

I have the same problem with the sound. I changed the conf files as mentioned
above and will see if these work. I changed them both. If they work, I'll
leave you know. One question...the the /etc/mplayer/mplayer.cong file.. the -ac
under audio ends with a comma... in my file anyway ... is tha
