Right, I experienced the same problem. qtrc set a usable default in edgy
but now in feisty beta qt apps are nearly unusable due to ugly motif
style and gigantic fonts. Even installing kdelibs does not help because
the paths are not configured. I think applications like Skype and LyX
etc. are import

Acer Aspire 1640Z series. 1 year old. Runs maybe 4 hours a day at

1) sendmail is split over several packages, and the dependencies are a mess. So:

Ya, I know about all that. The restricted drivers utility did actually
install the legacy driver. I am using the legacy driver in Edgy with my
little card and it works flawlessly. I am able to run the 3D OpenGL
screensavers and UT and Quake 3 all without any problems.

Are you sure that should work? According to man savage(4) there is no
such option for it. And in bug #41340 you commented that disablind DRI
can be done by removing Load "dri" from the config :)

when i deinstall gnome-screensaver and replace it by xscreensaver, there
is no problem. So i think it must be something with gnome-screensaver.
When killing it, it also stops falling to standby. I run it in the
lastest feisty and never experienced the problem before.

Bug 97226 indicates that using vga=771 boot param shows more. I tried
that and got the same message from Busybox as reported in 97226. The CD
was not mounted and I could not mount the CD from the busybox shell.

We've discussed this on the mailing list a fair bit already. My personal
view is that network configuration is pretty inseparable from connecting
to the internet in the eyes of a regular non-geek user. But Kubuntu have
taken the opposite view. Let's discuss it more on the list?
